Undead Bretts
4 months ago – Wed, Apr 22, 2026 at 12:52:47 AM

As I can't find a way of responding to Dirk's comment re the Undead Bretts directly, I thought I'd show a bit more of them here while I can with you all - I'm sure there's a simple way but I am of a certain age..!!

The plan is to provide options to allow players to be fielded as Skeletons and / or Zombies via head swaps and alternative bodies....some of the head swaps available are below.

We're aiming for clear representation of what the player is, as well as lookig to provide maximum variety!

Cheers!

Campaign Completed
4 months ago – Tue, Apr 21, 2026 at 05:34:49 AM

Hi Everyone,

All pledges have now been produced and sent - well, they were some weeks ago actually but some pledges had quite some way to go (Australia and New Zealand, which is as far away from the UK as it's possible to be!) and I wanted to wait for those pledges to be well on their way before posting that the campaign is now complete and closed.

Thanks to you all for your support, and your patience when I hit issues and timescales got extended - as a one-man-band there are always potential pitfalls that can occur, but I appreciate your forbearance and understanding through my technical issues.

I am working on the next team as I write - no idea when they will be ready as yet, but as a bit of a teaser for you all here's an initial sneak peak of a Zombie / Skeleton Squire from my planned Undead Bretts.

I will let you know when the Bretts are nearing completion / ready for launch, and a massive thank you all once again as I sign off for the Norse Orcs. If anyone you know see your minis and wants some, they are now all on my website, which is at www.agemaminis.co.uk

Cheers!

All Pledges Produced! STL Campaign launches on MMF 7th April
5 months ago – Tue, Mar 31, 2026 at 05:35:01 AM

Hi Everyone,

I have now completed printing the last few pledges - apologies again for the delay in getting these done. I now need to clean the final few batches of minis up, pack them and get them to the Post Office. All being well, everyone should have their pledges in the next few days.

For those of you who were looking for an STL version of the Norse Orcs, you can now find me on My Mini Factory Frontiers. You can scroll through the 'upcoming' section, and follow the pre-launch page for more information, and to be notified when the campaign goes live. It will be running until the 20th April, by which time all physical backers should have their minis in hand.

As always guys, if anyone has any questions, please DM me and I'll respond as quickly as possible. Thanks to you all for your patience and your support - keep an eye out for our next project, which will be Undead Bretts! You can follow the progress on these guys on my FB page.

Take care all, and thanks again!

Cheers

Home Stretch!
5 months ago – Tue, Mar 10, 2026 at 04:54:22 AM

Hi Everyone,

It's been a hectic few weeks since I last posted an update, but I'm glad to say that we are now in to the home straight on the Norse Orc campaign. More than 40 pledges have been completed and shipped, with another 4 on my work bench now being finalised, which leaves 10 pledges to complete. I'm expecting a further delivery of resin this week, and then I should get those last pledges completed and mailed out.

The production and distribution process has been rockier than expected - I hit some technical problems with my printer which was causing multiple print failures (now thankfully resolved!) combined with some mailing issues. For US backers, I'm having to pay a shipping tariff of 15% on top of the original postal charge, which has knocked a hole in my budget on that front, coupled with knock-on delays in delivery the tariffs have caused. My EU distributor then let me down as a consequence (they've had to concentrate all their resource on their core customer based in the US) which didn't leave capacity for me. I've done my best to work around these problems, but sincere apologies to anyone who ended up having to pay a Customs Charge they were not expecting. The balance was between trying to find another distributor (no one willing to take on the role, given the relatively small numbers involved) and trying to provide a reasonably timely delivery. I've tried my best on that front, but again, apologies to those of you who got hit with a Customs Charge.

In other news, for those of you who were asking about an STL campaign, I am in the process of trying to create a Frontiers campaign on My Mini Factory. I don't know when this will be ready yet - all physical pledges for the N'Orcs will need to be complete first, but I will let you know. I'm hoping sometime in April.

Finally, I have started the process for the next team(s) - I won't give anything away yet, but they will involve some Zombies!

Until next time

Cheers

Production Update and Tips
6 months ago – Sat, Feb 07, 2026 at 03:29:31 AM

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to provide you all with an update as to where we are with delivering the N'Orc project, as it's been a while, and also for those of you who have received your pledges, provide a few hints and tips.

Firstly, an apology for not finishing the production of all pledges in January as planned. I've had a few delays which I hadn't originally foreseen - printer components that I have had to import from overseas have taken 2-3 weeks to arrive when they should have taken 3 days (the Post Office in the UK is broken...) and I've had some personal distractions. Without boring you with the details, I'm involved in a law suit which is about to go to Court, which has been consuming large quantities of my time compiling witness statements and evidence submissions etc.

However, all that notwithstanding, components and materials have now arrived, along with I hope a brief respite in the legal wranglings, which should result in me finishing production of the last 3rd or so of pledges in the coming week(s). Some of you will already have received your pledges and as such, I wanted to give you a few tips on how best to approach your models to get the best from them.

Tips with Resin

As you will hopefully remember, the N'Orcs are 3d printed in photosensitive resin. The Asiga printer I use is very good at placing supports underneath overhangs and avoiding intersecting any detail on the miniature. Post production I also clean up every model with Isopropyl Alcohol, followed by a wash in hot water and detergent, and a final removal of any supports by hand. However, with all the minis I am producing and cleaning, I might miss a few small supports. The best way to deal with any of these, should you spot any I have missed, is to gently use the edge of your thumbnail against the contact point of the support, and it should just come away. The contact point for the supports is roughly 0.5mm, so should readily pop off when gently encouraged to.

There shouldn't be a situation where larger supports need removing, but in the unlikely event this occurs and using your thumbnail doesn't work, drop the model into some hot (not boiling) water for a few minutes. This will soften the support (but not the denser, larger model) and should then allow it to be removed as above. You can also use the edge of a sharp modelling knife if you prefer.

As the models are resin, it is not recommended to file or sand them unless you are wearing a dust mask / face protector and are in a well ventilated area - you do not want to be inhaling resin dust under any circumstances! The Ameralabs TGM-7 resin has a degree of 'spring' in it to protect the models if dropped, so they are not 'hard' like injection moulded plastic but slightly softer. This can lead to imperfect results if you are sanding or filing the surface over large areas.

Rather than sand or file anything, I would recommend using a sharp modelling knife and either drag the blade across the surface in a shaving motion, or gently cut against anything you feel you want to remove / smooth.

When painting your models, I would recommend using any of the readily available undercoat sprays straight out of the box - no further cleaning of the models by you is needed. The resin will take an undercoat well, and you should be able to paint straight on to this once dry (I personally use Colour Forge standard grey).

I hope the above is helpful, and if anyone has any specific questions then please feel free to drop me a message. Happy blocking!

Cheers
